THE RACE
The fabulously fast Ellesmere 10km race and 2k Fun Run is back for the 11th year in 2023 and the date is confirmed as Sunday 27th August 2023 (That's the August Bank Holiday!)

This is as fast and as popular as ever!
This race has amazing PB potential for runners prepared to take it on as well as the amazingly speedy course record being only 29 minutes and 12 seconds, this makes Ellesmere 10k the 6th fastest 10k in the UK in 2012. Are you up for the challenge of beating the record?

The race is a mix of road and well surfaced flat trail, very gentle undulations with just one sharp turn and a hump-back canal bridge to negotiate. Plus some stunning scenery to zoom your way through!

Did you know you can get your hands on a bunch of prizes at Ellesmere 10k?

Winners' prizes of £200, £100 and £50 for 1st, 2nd and 3rd male & female runners.
...And guess what? There's even a £300 bonus if you can beat the course record (29 mins and 12 secs)
Because we really enjoy giving back into our community, there are even prizes for age category winners - which quite often consist of a nice bottle of wine!
A few more details...
The Ellesmere 10k uses chip-timing technology from the back of the registration numbers, so you can get your exact times afterwards!
Limited Edition Running T-shirts and Custom medals are awarded to our 10k runners as an extra special thank you for joining us although we do have to order these 4 weeks in advance as these are non-refundable items. Please note every year once we reach that total we will put a message out on our entry page explaining that we have reached that total. Runners can still enter but we are very sorry but we will not be able to guarantee T-Shirts or Medals for those late entries.
All of our little runners taking part in the 2k Fun Run receive a medal and trophies are awarded to our young track stars!

The venue is Lakelands School, where you can park for free, which has changing facilities (where items are left at their own risk) and there will be tea and coffee, baps and cakes, on offer within the venue at all times, so even if you're just waiting on the side-lines, you can help yourself to a sweet treat as a reward!

Ellesmere is a delightful small town with plenty to do and scenic vantage points to watch the race from (We recommend joining us at the start, finish and in the middle at Ellesmere's aesthetic Mere!

The race entry is capped at 2000 runners so be sure to enter quickly before it's sold out.
The race takes place on Sunday 27th August 2023, starting at 11:00am
The Lakeside Coaches 2k Fun Run is aimed at children aged 4 to 11 starts at 10:30am on Sunday 27th August, we encourage you to run with the tiny participants (You don't have to buy an extra ticket, don't worry!) but it's a great chance to let the older ones have a sense of competition and independance.

COURSE DETAILS
If you're a serious racer and want to start right at the front, we suggest arriving slightly early and being super prepared - but your time doesn't begin until to cross the line!
Don't forget to bring along your biggest supporters to cheer you on your way!
If you encounter any injuries upon your journey (we hope this doesn't happen!) we have first aid trained marshals and an ambulance on-site at all times.
Please report any course irregularities or injuries to our marshals who will take care of you, as always!
Volunteers
Ellesmere 10k is ran purely by volunteers, we try our best to brief everyone but this isn't always possible, so please have patience with our staff as we know they will always be trying their best to help you!
Hydration
We recommended that you bring you're own water bottle, not only does it help reduce plastic waste, but this means you have an unlimited water source. We will be passing out water bottles at the halfway point and at the end of the race with your medals!
